cry baby cry

I filled my iPod shuffle with a bunch of albums and put it on shuffle for a run. The song 'big baby' came on, by Danielson Famile, in which the last line is 'Cry, baby, cry.' By random chance the next song that came on was 'Cry Baby Cry' by the Beatles, where the first line is 'Cry, baby, cry.' Seriously. What are the odds?

pink eye

While waiting in the doctor's office today I watched the pet birds they have. There was a dinner plate of cucumber slices at the bottom of the cage and the birds stood on the slices as they pecked away at the seeds in the center. I drew what I saw, and then I drew lots more cucumber slices, with lots more birds standing on them. Soon it was just a sea of cucumber slices, each with a little bird perched on it. More of a pattern than a still-life, I'd say. The picture above is not the one I drew. My scanner isn't set up right now. And plus I have pink eye which is making it very unfun to work on projects right now. It sounds much more appealing to read the fiction in this week's New Yorker and then go to bed.
