It's funny being in the Southwest of the US, because the geese continue to migrate through much of the winter. In New England their migration was a harbinger of winter and then you could assume you wouldn't see them again until their return in the spring. I can imagine they're the same geese I'd see if I were back in New England. They're just much further on their journey when it's this late in the season. Things are different here. Out here in Lafayette, they are a constant. Huge clouds of them come across the fields. Plus, our neighbors have a hunting license, so it's very entertaining on Sunday mornings to watch them fall from the sky (not!).
