cold winter's night

All the flora here in LA is amazing- the pods and seeds and crazy-giant leaves that grow and grow without a frost to kill them...  And I've taken photos and drawn some but not nearly like I thought I would...
These pods are from the loop I run at lunch- How funny that I moved to LA but still managed to find myself working at an office close to a really nice trail for running.  Instead of Coyotes and Bald Eagles and Prairie dogs it's Lizards and Crows and Egrets now, but reminiscent of my Colorado runs, and still restorative to leave my desk at noon and slip into a different space for part of the day.

my work space

I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'm really really messy when I do work.  I don't particularly like it- there's something so nice about a big clean desk and a lack of clutter and everything having its place...  But inevitably my desk becomes a big old cluttered mess.  Pliers, glue, scissors, electronics, fabric, receipts, charcoal, empty cups and glasses, sketchbooks, bills...  I do think it's worth noting that in this photo of my current work space you can find 3 decorative unicorns.  At least it has that going for it...

yucko

I was just wondering to myself if some friends will be in town next weekend and my first instinct was to open up their Entourage Calendar and take a look at their schedule. I take that to mean that I spend far too much time at work on my computer. Yucko.

it's always the one you least suspect

I would have bet on the ninja, but that just goes to show how much I know... This is the [crime] scene I came back to at my desk after going for a run at lunch today. Woah...

lil' bunny

This lil' guy liked his patch of worn down grass next to the walkway. He seemed to be too young to know to be afraid of me. It's sort of ridiculous how cute the baby bunnies are. I can hardly stop myself from making audible coos when I see one. Though it was fun the year the owls nested in the tree outside the conference room, I don't miss the torn up bunny parts strewn across the walkways when we would arrive at work in the mornings- evidence of the mother owl teaching her owlets how to hunt and preying on the naive and vulnerable little bunnies... I'd rather be greeted by bunnies like this little one, chewing on grass and watching me as I pass by.

screen shot

I imported a bunch of images into a spec pack I was working on, and when I went to sort them out I noticed how nicely the one image with my hand lined up with the other. I took a screen shot of the images before sorting them. Is this actually cool? Or is my brain just fried from staring at this screen for so many hours? I guess we'll never know...
